Meet Our Instructors

We are blessed to have a team of dedicated instructors, scholars and Imams who allow us to work towards our collective goal of benefiting the Muslim community. 

Imam Abid Khan

Instructor

Imam Abid Khan is a graduate of Law and a teacher by profession. Having studied the Islamic Sciences with teachers in the UK, Imam Abid decided to take his studies further and spent a number of years studying at the prestigious Al-Azhar University in Egypt from which he graduated with a BA in Islamic and Arabic Studies. 

In addition to his BA in Islamic and Arabic Studies he also holds a Masters in Islamic Education. 

Imam Abid currently serves as the Director of Education and Assistant Imam of Cheadle Mosque in Manchester and consults with numerous charity organisations including National Zakat Foundation, Water Aid and Read Foundation.

Imam Abid also teaches at a number of institutions including the European Institute of Islamic Sciences and Al-Marifah Foundation.

Ustadh Rehan Salim

Instructor

Ustadh Rehan Salim is a postgraduate in the field of International Development, from the University of Manchester. He began his studies in the UK with the respected Open school, before travelling to Egypt where he focused on Arabic & Islamic studies, as well as completing a college diploma from Ma’had al-Azhar. There, he attended the classes of Shaykh Ahmed Taha Rayyan and other respected teachers.

Thereafter, he travelled to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where he sought employment and continued seeking knowledge, particularly Shafi’i fiqh, hadith and other subjects with local scholars. He also completed a blended BA degree in Islamic Law (Shari’ah) from the Imam Muhammad University in Riyadh.

Shaykh Asad Chaudhary

Instructor

Through involvement with the Islamic Society at college, Shaykh Asad began Islamic work from an early age. While at university, he served on the committees of a local youth organisation and the university Islamic Society. After graduation, he memorised the Qur’an and went on to study Arabic and Islamic Law at the European Institute of Human Sciences, France. He went on to peruse further studies in Egypt and completed a BA in Islamic Law at al-Azhar University.

Shaykh Anis Gouissem

Instructor

Sheikh Anis Gouissem was born in Tunisia and is currently based in Manchester. Shaykh Anis graduated from Madinah University in the early 90’s and has studied under various world renowned teachers and scholars. 

He regularly teaches a number of subjects included a commentary of Saheeh al-Bukhari and a reading of Imam Malik’s al-Muwatta at the al-Bukhary centre in Didsbury. We have been blessed to host Sheikh as he has delivered classes for multiple courses including, ‘Al-Shamaa’il’.

Shaykh Hammad Ur Rahman Fahim

Instructor

Shaykh Fahim memorised the Quran at the age of 14 at Darul Ulum in Bolton (UK) and his preliminary Islamic Studies were under the tutelage of his father, Maulana Ikhlas al-Rahman. After completing his A-levels, Shaykh Fahim continued his studies and gained a Diploma in Arabic Language, moving on to study Shariah at the Institut Européen des Sciences (France). He graduated from the prestigious Al-Azhar University in the Faculty of Shariah (Egypt) with a BA (Hons) degree in Islamic Jurisprudence. He has also gained ijazah (classical certification) in several Qirat, including Hafs, Warsh and Hamzah. Shaykh Fahim has a great passion for studying and teaching Quranic subjects with a special focus on the eloquence of the Quranic language and Quranic exegesis. Currently the Sheikh is Director of Education at the European Institute of Islamic Studies in Oldham. He is also an Executive Committee member of the British Academy of Qur’anic Studies (BAQS).

Sheikh AwadAlla Al Azhari
Professor Sheikh Awadalla Youssef, has received multiple ijaazat and has been teaching Tilaawat al-Qur’aan since sixteen years of age. As well as a PhD in Islamic Studies, Sheikh has also completed an MA in Management in Education and an MA in Religious Education. Sheikh has taught in a number of capacities in Egypt, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and most recently the UK where we were honoured to host Sheikh for our Seerah conference.
Sheikh Haitham Al Haddad
Shaykh Dr Haitham al-Haddad is a jurist and UK based Scholar who currently serves as the Chair of the Fatwa Committee for The Islamic Council of Europe. He has studied Islamic sciences for over 20 years under the tutelage of renowned scholars. We have been blessed to host Sheikh during his visits to Manchester for exclusive Q+A sessions with our students.
Shaykh Kehlan al-Jubury​
Shaykh Kehlan was born in Dhuluiyyah, Iraq and is from the Juboor tribe. He studied the sciences of Shari'ah followed by Engineering at the University of Baghdad. He then took an MA in Islamic Theology from Punjab University and also obtained ijaza in hadith from the renowned Muhaddith, Shaykh 'Abd al-Ghaffar Hasan in Pakistan. He now teaches sacred Shari'ah knowledge in Manchester after completing his Doctorate in Engineering from the University of Sheffield. Shaykh Kehlan has lectured alongside the world's most prominent scholars at various international meetings and symposia. He is the UK Shariah Council Representative for the North of England and is also the editor of al-Hady al-Nabawy Magazine. Shaykh Kehlan is also the Director of Markaz al-Bukhary in Didsbury where he delivers fatawa.
Sheikh Yasir Qadhi
Sheikh Yasir Qadhi is an Islamic Theologian & Scholar Dean Of Academic Affairs at The Islamic Seminary of America Resident Scholar, East Plano Islamic Center. We have been blessed to host Sheikh during his visits to the UK where he has attended our Seerah Conference and in more recent visits discussed lessons from the Covid-19 pandemic.
Sheikh Dr. Sajid Umar
Sheikh Sajid Umar is a qualified Mufti and Judge, as well as an educator, author, researcher, and developer with a vision of ignited communities that benefit humanity upon the ethos of sincerity, excellence and steadfastness. We were blessed to host Sheikh for his course on the tafseer of Surah Hujuraat.
Dr. Uthmaan Lateef
Dr Uthman Lateef has a BA (First Class Hons) in History, an MA (Dist.) in Crusader Studies, and has completed a PhD in the Place of Fada'il al-Quds' (the Merits of Jerusalem) and Religious Poetry in the Muslim effort to recapture the Crusades. We were blessed to host Dr. Uthmaan Lateef during our Seerah Conference where he discussed the 'Emotional Intelligence and Empathy of the Prophet (saw)'.
Ustadh Hisham Abu Yusuf
Ustadh Hisham is the Muslim Chaplain at the University of Nottingham and has been teaching Arabic & Islamic studies for the last 7 years. Having studied Arabic and the Islamic Sciences in the UAE, he received a higher license and ijazah (traditional licenses) to teach various Islamic sciences. We were blessed to host Ustadh Hisham for his course on, 'Surah Yasin'.
Ustadh Umer Suleman
Ustadh Umer Suleman is a Regulatory and Operational Risk Consultant for Financial Institutions who also serves as the Finance Editor for a UK Islamic news portal. We were blessed to host Ustadh Umer for his course on, 'Halal Money Matters'.
