Upholding Integrity in the Face of Injustice

It’s reported that the Charity Commission (CC) is now examining mosques for hosting pro-hate preachers.
A few things to mention:
1) The consortia who put forward the request to the CC quote the following as pro-hate:
“Victory for the believers”.
“Destroy all those oppressing our brothers and sisters in Gaza”,
“Praying for the victory of the “mujahideen
Is it an offence to support a resistance against an unlawful seventy-five year occupation? What did the foreign secretary Liz Truss say in Feb 2022 after being asked by the BBC:
‘So, you support people from Britain going to Ukraine to help in the fight (against Russia)?’.
She responded: ‘Absolutely, if that’s what they want do!”
Thousands of children are being killed in Gaza over the past fifty years and this consortia are complaining about vague statements on the minbar.
Where’s the call-out of the IDF for systematically, PHYSICALLY killing innocents? How about Rishi saying ‘we want Israel to win’ or Keir Starmer saying they have a right to cut off water and electricity, emphatically supporting war crimes?
Ridiculous and infuriatingly hypocritical.
2) Know that the people who put forward this plea to the CC are staunch islamophobes. Maryam Namazie, Richard Dawkins and this Gideot Falter amongst others.
This is a ploy to silence the one place where truth manifests – the Masaajid of Allah.
This is textbook truthhood vs falsehood. It needs to be treated and counteracted like that.
3) Following on from the above – as we live in the UK, we are bound by the laws of this country. Everyone needs to have a decent understanding of what is legal vs not legal.
Once we know this, then we should push to the edges of what’s legal to make sure the truth is heard, but we are also not negatively affected.
If we always take a defeatist cautious/safe approach every time some twitter account records a video or some consortia of islamophobes gather together, then we will lose to attrition.
If we concede to not say certain du’as on the minbar because of perceived *terrorism*, they will eventually come after the book of Allah. This is not an option.
This country prides itself on the fundamental right of freedom of speech. We are British just as much as our neighbours Bob and Julie – don’t be shy to exercise this right within the confines of British law.
There were so many non-Muslims who have joined these pro-Pal marches whilst the government demonises them. They are still strong and recognise oppression when they see it. Kudos to these people for supporting a people they have no direct connection with. That’s what you call integrity.
4) Finally we need to wake up. I’m the first to say my involvement is poor, but now is the time for strong leadership in this realm.
We need to put aside our differences and challenge this hypocrisy. Imams, community leaders, specialists, business owners etc need to utilise their strength and influence. I’m not saying it has to be at a national level – let’s just have some strength and cohesion in our own communities. At least that’s a starting point to build from.
This is primarily for the people of Palestine and oppressed around the world. But also, for our future generations in this country.
